Beautiful Tummy Tuck Tattoo Designs and Ideas

Beautiful tummy tuck tattoo designs and stomach scar ideas to make beauty out of pain.

Tummy tucks are a wonderful way to reduce the embarrassing aftermath of significant weight loss, or to enhance the abdomen that maybe once looked quite different.

To cover up the residual effects of stomach scarring from a tuck, c-section or something else, I’m turning to a tattoo artist to take something I feel is unsightly and make it something to be proud of.

Tummy Tuck Tattoo Design

As with any large scar or area of the body that has experienced stretching, insecurity can be a common feeling. But with the right tattoo design, all evidence of the scar can be gone.

Pro Tip: If you are looking to cover a stomach scar look at tattoo designs that are horizontal in nature and mold upwards. This will pull the eye up and make the scar below visually disappear.

These beautiful tummy tuck tattoos are just some of the stunning ways to hide that scar and show off that beautiful new tummy artwork.

Stomach Scar Tattoo Cover Ups

Stomach scar tattoo cover ups inspired by animals are so fun! It’s traditional to see florals in this place on a woman’s stomach, which as I show below is beautiful… but what if you take it a different direction and shoot for something wild and fun!

A dragon to show the strength it went through to get these scars.

A moth butterfly by black+blond that is emerging as victorious over the pain.

And a wild jellyfish like this one by Matt Trybom that is exploratory and fun are all fabulous ways to design a tattoo stomach scar cover up.

Floral tummy tuck tattoo process designs

The design process Carry Bizz takes a scar and turn it into a work of art isn’t always easy. I love that we get to see the behind the scenes for this floral tummy tuck tattoo process. What starts as a simple sketch covers the space with vibrant floral flowers. I think a peony tattoo design would also look so pretty here.

Before and after tummy scar cover up with tattoo ink butterfly

It’s amazing to me how great the before and afters look on some of these tummy tuck tattoo scar cover ups. The artistry and design like this one by Kings Tattoo make it almost look like the scar was never even there! It makes me want to go get one right now.

Making scars pretty with ink and art is something that gets more on trend every year. Whether your talking a C-section, tummy tuck, or skin cancer removal – not many of us love the look of our scars left behind. Take a cue from these pretty trends and get yours covered in ink.

Black floral band is simple and perfectly elegant on the tummy line.

Click through here to see more of these asymmetrical pink flowers by tattoos by Tia Reililani which I love because they come from the side so as to not draw all the attention to the lower belly scar area and work to cover up stretch marks as well.

A dashing line of gems and moon create a pretty cover up design here.

And lastly, these black large scale florals by Black Artistry 101 cover such a large surface you don’t even notice the scarring on the stomach underneath.

Can a Tattoo Cover a Tummy Tuck Scar?

A tummy tuck scar can definitely be covered by a tattoo.  To reduce associated pain and ensure a long-lasting design you will want to wait about a year for the scaring to completely heal.  You will also want to find a tattoo artist that specializes in scar tattoos as the process can be slightly different from other non-scar tattoos.

How Long After Tummy Tuck Can I Get a Tattoo?

A year until the scar is fully healed. Most scars are completely healed when they are lighter in color and no longer raised which can take up to a year at most.

These tummy scar covering designs take something we might want to cover up and make it a body part to show off in the best of ways. Let me know what your favorite design is in the comments below & if you’re looking for more ways to make your body shine try out one these under breast tattoos.
