How Much Does It Hurt?
The pain level of tattoos are full dependent on different factors about you and about the tattoo itself. If you have a high pain tolerance, you likely won’t have any problems with most of the tattoos in this post. They’re pretty laid back.
But if you have a low pain tolerance, and you choose a larger and more detailed piece, it’s going to be a bit more painful.
The more sensitive spots to get tattoos that are also common placements are:
- Hands
- Ankles
- Soft inner and upper arm
- Spine
- Ribs
This is due to the softness of the skin or the boniness of the spot. The softer the skin and the thinner the skin on top of a bone is likely to be more sensitive.
But I have a low pain tolerance and do just fine with these placements! So don’t stress too much about it.
Anything artfully designed can be made into a stunning sleeve, but I love the idea of these tattoos as patchwork pieces. If that’s your style of tattoo, this is a perfect next piece.

Just a little cup of Joe, always a part of your body art, just like it’s always a part of your morning routine.
I hope one of these ideas speaks to you as your next piece, and you walk away with the best coffee cup tattoo we’ve ever seen!
